Using the motorways, it can take around 4 hours from Birmingham to Fishguard. But there are advantages to taking the ferry from this seemingly remote ferry port. It is situated in a beautiful area and driving there will take you through some amazing countryside and scenery which, if you have time, can be an enjoyable part of the trip itself.
