Visiting Bray, Near Dulblin

What to see and do in Bray, Ireland

The historic seaside town of Bray is situated close to Dublin, just along the coase. The city has played an important role during its nine centuries of existence and it is even said that Oliver Cromwell made Bray his hometown for a couple of years. At the same time, Bray is also one of the long-established coastal holiday resorts in Ireland, with numerous hotels, restaurants and high-profile events throughout the entire year. One of the must-see attractions in Bray is the Victorian two kilometre long esplanade from where you can actually see the Bray Head. The Bray Head and the Harbour are now considered a wildlife reserve which is home to an amazing amount of birdlife. Historical Bray includes two amazing castles that were built there in medieval times, although nowadays visitors can only enjoy the view of the castle remaining at Oldcourt. Another interesting thing that you can do while you are in Bray is to take the one and half hour walk from Bray to Greystones on the famous Cliff Walk. The road is going on the lines of the old Victorian railroad and you have a high chance of meeting the local feral goats on the way.
